Dont go to 4 day schhool Week! "Donate a Dollar" box, change it to give $10, $5, or $1 to the State
I just found out that the Boise Schools will be going to a 4 day week next year due to cuts ordered by the Gov. I hope the Gov and the legislators realize that they might be cutting the budget but they also are taking money directly from the parents of the students. I am a parent of 2 children. My wife, or I or will either have to take a day off from work or pay day care for my 2 children. This will add up to several hundred dollars a month. We cannot afford this! Please rethink this plan. I do not think you realize how much this will affect the parents of children in Idaho.
I have an idea that will put the State of Idaho in the national spotlight as a progressive thinker!! Keep the education budget and instead of getting rid of the "Donate a Dollar" box, change it to give $10, $5, or $1 to the State of Idaho!

I work for a school district and it would be very efficient to have a four day school week. The money saved in busing alone would be a significant amount of money. We should not be providing daycare for parents. It is an education system and not a daycare system.

The school system should not be your babysitter. Saying that, I am for elliminating the public school system as a whole and turning it over to the private sector, since 1. the prvate sector normally is more efficient then te government and 2. the Constitution does not guarantee a free education for anyone.
