Use e-readers books in all schools to reduce costs/waste and allow consolidation of efforts
This eliminates the need for weighty textbooks reducing injuries to young students. It allows for easier movement of materials, reduces loss of books (just re-load if needed). There will be cost savings associated with not having to store or manage thousands of hard books. No receipt, assignment or movement of books. No book depository, no paid staff to oversee. No use of administrator time to recover monies for lost books. Parents put a deposit down at the beginning of the year and get it back when the e book is returned. The device can be loaded with every text in the curriculum. Eliminating two low-end staff jobs that transport books can save a district $50,000 at a minimum. This proposal significantly reduces legal exposure/potential complaints by parents of injury to students by having to carry so much weight.

This makes so much sense! Education currently spends nearly $100 on high school textbooks that could be consolidated and easily updated for students. Every part of this proposal provides evidence as to why we should seriously consider this excellent and innovative idea.
