Spend less on inmates in jail
One way that could help reduce so much of the money spent in the public safety category of Idaho’s budget could be to simply reduce just how much money is spent on inmates who are actually doing time in jail. My mom works Ada County, and she tells me how many people basically provide for those inmates. I think they shouldn’t get as much care as they already do receive. I think that less needs to be spent on their health services, food, living space, and other benefits they get. They are in jail for a reason; giving inmates the exact same conditions as out of jail is only costing taxpayers. I don’t think their rights should be taken away, just a more aware look at what we pay for criminals to be content in jail.

I agree! Why should they get the same benefits of normal life when they gave up that right when they committed the crime that landed them in jail.
