An error occurred while saving the comment Terry Kramer commentedIf the choice is close the parks or cut the program, I chose to keep the parks open with park managers, hosts and seasonal employees. When the economy returns, reinstate the programs. Park rangers and programs cost a lot to maintain.

An error occurred while saving the comment Terry Kramer commentedBuy out programs allow for the 55+ employee to retire early. Their higher salary allows for the hiring of 2 or 3 lower (entry) people for the same money, or the reduction in buget with out the loss of FTE.
Always remember, the state receives no revenue from property tax. Property tax supports local government like law enforcement, local roads, courts, fire protection and school buildings. Many of the services are voted on and approved by the local people.
