An error occurred while saving the comment Kimberly commentedI work for a school district and it would be very efficient to have a four day school week. The money saved in busing alone would be a significant amount of money. We should not be providing daycare for parents. It is an education system and not a daycare system.

I really think in a community like mine, where we are bussing about 60% of students, a 4 day school week is adequate. It will save money on gas, lighting, heating and cooling of buildings. It will give teachers a day (friday) to prepare for the next school week and to aquire any further training.
We have to look at our education spending and cutback where necessary. I don't understand when the governor says cut back on education we all gasp! It is the biggest expense and there is alot of great programs that we can't afford right now. I think it is vital for our children that we cut back and keep our state on budget so, when they grow up they are not burdened with taxes and an education system that they cannot sustain.
how are we as a state going to pay for all these drug test??? I don't want my tax payer money paying for drug rehab for somebody who doesn't want rehabilitated. I think food stamps should be food specific so they are not out buying steak, soda pop, ice cream etc. It should be more basic like bread, milk, cereal, etc. In my home we are on a budget and we only buy goodies (steak, ice cream, etc) when we have a little extra so why should tax payer's money buy them luxury food??
