Yes the economic impact would be staggering, we have great land to grow this in Idaho to. Problem is the State has a hard time telling the federal government o stay out of our business. Lets take back our state, it's lands and our sovereignty.

I say if a person does their time, then you should delete their record completely. What is the point in serving your time if you will always have a record following you around, make it like the driving records, you are clean if you did your time. I would also suggest teaching the prisoners a trade, and let them work that trade while in prison so they could pay their room and board thus reliving the tax payer of that burden.

Why don't we eliminate the radio also and maybe put partitions between the people in cars, those ideas are just as bright.......while driving you can be distracted by many things should we just eliminate the public's ability to drive?

How about we use the billions of dollars in hidden wealth the state has instead of pretending that we have budget problems. The idea of taxing the consumer for every little thing is an idea that only makes the citizen poorer and hurts the economy. If you do not like plastic bags, don't use them, but do not try to force everyone down that narrow road.

I for one do not agree with term limits, I believe that voters should be free to choose who represents them and for how long. voters will get what they deserve when they keep voting in the same incompetent people over and over.

I agree with Debbie, but would expand that to include everything. the Legislators are citizens elected to represent the citizens, they should not be held in a higher esteem then any other citizen.

Teach the legislators that throwing more money you at the educational system does not equate to better education. Pay good teachers more money, while replacing bad teachers. Take the tenure practice away and make teachers accountable year end and year out with the threat of being fired if they are substandard teachers.

I would rather see the Legislature meet more often if they would eliminate more laws each year then they make. I really get irritated with the elected officials who are so proud when they say stuff like "We passed X amount of laws" I would be proud of them if they said "we eliminated X amount of laws this year". I also think the legislators should be out visiting their constituents more often then just on election years.

We are not Nevada either. Saying that, it is proven that athletics in schools do much more for the students then just giving them exercise. Lets stop acting like the state has finance problems and make them show us the CARFs........and use those funds.

I would first say do not fall for the Great Global Warming Swindle. Use the resources we have. Attracting businesses from outside the state is good, but a better idea would be to use the great resources of our citizens to develop new and viable businesses within our state. A good freeway from the Canadian border to the Idaho/Nevada border would do wonders for the state n all different kinds of areas, from tourism to to law enforcement.

Turn the schools over to the private sector and not only see the increase in scores but also the economy will be helped and the state will lose a budget item..

I would go further and eliminate all public schooling..
Like the automobile dealers how about we have a license plate that follows the person and not the vehicle, one plate for life. The scam of renewal every year or two is just that a scam to steal the money from the citizen. same thing goes for the drivers license, make that a one time purchase, we all know you don't lose those driving skills every few years, so why make the citizen purchase a new license.
